The settlement of Alydisenio Pigadi is a area located above the Metamorphosis stream, hidden behind the Simeon and Bella Maria hotels. Initially, the area was an olive grove, but it was transformed into a settlement in 2005. Administratively, it belongs to Nikiti, but the village of Metamorphosis is easily accessible on foot.
From the house, a rural road leads to the stream and then to the beach, just 100 meters away on foot. There, you will find the Athirou Stella supermarket with all necessary products just 80 meters away.
Urban Legents
Alysidenio Pigadi
The settlement of Alysidenio Pigadi (Chain Well) derives its name from an old well located in the olive grove. According to urban legend, the farmer who owned the olive grove once killed his wife, bound her with chains, and threw her into the well. Despite extensive searches, her body was never found.
Influenced by this tragic story, the locals began referring to the area as “Alysidenio Pigadi,” meaning the well filled with chains and dark secrets.
